Minibus Hire & Car Recovery Guide

We went on the Canterbury, Dover and White Cliffs trip. Driver Keith and Guide Peter were excellent. The tour bus was comfortable and the ride smooth. We were actually lucky that holiday traffic changed the itinerary because we were able to attend a church service and watch a joust at Dover. We also had time to walk around the White Cliffs in beautiful weather. This was an excellent tour. Thank you Peter, Keith and Anderson Tours. A long day tour from London by coach, but very interesting and informative, thanks to Mark, the tour leader. Given the structure and parameters of the tour, time was limited at each stop, but in our circumstances, it offered the best option to tick off the "bucket list" item of The White Cliffs of Dover.

No doubt the best method to view the Cliffs would be by boat, but that wasn't open to us. The added bonus of the tour was Dover Castle, which proved particularly interesting and scenic. We didn't have the luxury of time to inspect the WW2 tunnels, but were able to tour the Hospital Tunnels. That was fascinating, along with an audio simulating actual conditions during the war and as a result, one could sense the atmosphere of the times. The Castle itself was very impressive, as was the view over the Channel to France (luckily a clear day), clearly confirming the choice of site for the Castle.

I wasn't particularly interested in visiting Canterbury Cathedral, although it was enormous and quite impressive. However, I've seen many in my travels, so it was just another one. Others will be keener on it. Mark guided us along the Cliffs and allowed us the explore the Castle and Canterbury independently, after arranging entry (to the Castle and Cathedral).
For me, too much time was allocated to Canterbury, whereas I would have preferred more time at the Cliffs and the Castle. However, we knew the tour structure before booking, so it is unfair to be too critical. Otherwise, thanks to Mark and Mark (the driver), who managed to find ways around horrendous traffic jams on the trip back to London. All in all, a well organised tour. Admission to each attraction was included in the price. So, unless one is on a self-drive trip, Andersons offers a good alternative.
